DIGSBY EYES FOR FACEBOOK

There are many web based instant messaging clients which support FACEBOOK chat that enables users to chat with facebook users, but digsby is the first 3rd party instant messaging client to supports facebook’s latest native chat feature. The latest facebook chat feature allows you to chat with all your Facebook friends right from Digsby, status messages means that you can set your Facebook status right from Digsby, popup notifications, and buddy icons. Moreover the ability to sync your IM status with your Facebook status and the ability to move Facebook buddies into other groups is also being under talk to get integrated along with digsby.

It features integration with all the usual IM services as well as Facebook, Twitter, and MySpace. Custom skins applied to the user interface can be enabled to sync across multiple installations, maintaining a consistent look and feel between computers. Additionally, the ability to manage multiple file transfers from a single window is a definite plus for file sharing.

Digsby however was supposed to be having CPU consumption more than 150 mb of RAM which was a big flaw in this wonderful IMC but it was dealt later on to reduce the consumption to astonishing 6-8mb.they name it as the weirdest bug ever because the high cpu utilization was triggered when you disable the cursor shadow

Tabbed Instant Messaging on new AIM Express

AIM has finally heard the masses and fulfilled a long awaited feature in their popular Web Based Instant messaging Client - AIM Express. They have introduced handful of new features in the latest version.

They have also moved the url of AIM express from old which was this - http://aimexpress.aim.com/ to http://www.aim.com/aimexpress.adp. Users can still access older version following the appropriate URL, but I doubt anyone is going to use that now, and why should they? huh!

So talking about new features, tabbed IMing is definitely one of those which means that you don’t need to take care of too many windows when you are chatting to heaps of friends, you will now see one window having tabs which you can easily switch back-and-forth.

They have also introduced new away features, I still haven’t got any idea of it, will use it and tell for sure.
