Yahoo Messenger’s official blog has announced a hidden feature in the last release of their Vista version. The feature has been named “Matrix Mode” internally. So what is Matrix Mode .. huh? Simply put, it is an extension of tabbed interface. Tabs are really handy when it comes to keeping your desktop clean of those multiple IM windows.
Matrix Mode is inspired by the grid user interface. It arranges multiple IM conversation windows in the form of a grid where you can just simply select the person you want to talk to. The panel has a common text area for writing. While you write for the active conversation, incoming messages for the rest of the conversations keeps updating too.
To start matrix mode in Yahoo Messenger Vista, you just need to open multiple conversation windows in tabs. Press ctrl + alt + shift + b to activate this cool hidden feature.
